Doing what I do best!

Hi, my name is Dan and thanks for visiting my site! Judging from the fact that you are reading this, I suspect that you are either an artist, aspiring director, video editor, or someone who is just plain interested in how to make a music video. Regardless of which category you fall into, you have come to the right place.

Before we even get started, you need to understand that there is a difference between the average “music video creator” and yourself. Because you took the time to actually search for “how to make a music video”, you are without a doubt, serious and willing to learn how to make one of the most badass, top of the line, full production, music videos you’ve ever seen right?

That’s what I thought. So lets get started…

My Story

I had no idea what I was doing…

I was in your shoes once too and as you may suspect, making a music video isn’t exactly an easy task to do. Like you, I had no idea where to even start. In order to actually create a music video, you need to be familiar with the equipment, directing, editing, and the industry standards in music video production. I noticed one HUGE thing too. Not only do you have to know what to do and how to do it, but you’ve got to know how to do it right. I tried to make a video with no idea what I was doing and trust me, the results were not pretty.

I almost gave up because it was so stressful to learn. I felt like my only option was to fork up the money for film school. That was not really an option though. The prices are ridiculous and it honestly cant be that hard to learn how to make an awesome music video right? I knew that there had to be plenty of information on the internet. So instead of paying $30,000 to go to some film school, I decided that I would take the little cash that I had and teach myself everything I needed to know.

After weeks of searching, I couldn’t  find any REAL way to teach myself. Everybody was using something different and most of the information and videos I found were poorly put together. Because there is so much info on the internet, nothing made sense and I still didn’t even know where to start. I even gave film school a second thought, but again I realized that paying $30,000 was not really an option for me. Then out of nowhere, the answer was given to me.

The Answer to my troubles.

This popular youtube director that I had been following on twitter said he literally found the “Rosetta stone” of filming. To this day, I thank god that I added a bunch of popular youtube music video directors. Because his videos were extremely well done, I took his word and decided to give this “Rosetta Stone” a try.

The name of the “Rosetta Stone” that he decided to tweet and I decided to try is called Film School Secrets. How ironic right? After going through the first 15 minutes of film school secrets, I learned more about how to make a music video than I did in months jumping through hundreds of forums online. I learned about what camera I needed, about sets, video editing, special effects, and exactly everything else that I was tirelessly searching to know for months.

Film School Secrets was literally everything that I needed. It is kind of different though. Through their website, they gave me  hands-on training with some of the most respected people in the industry. They even critiqued one of my videos too! Since they interacted with me and answered any questions that I had, (unlike the youtube directors I constantly asked) I learned everything I needed to know very quickly. It was like I was going to film school, but for only $67. I’ll take that deal any day!

Now here is exactly what they include in the package.

  • The Film School Secrets ebook, 161 pages, a detailed account of NYU’s Film Program
  • An 8 Video E Course on how to get on film sets for free, hire film students to work for you, what film industry pros actually look for when hiring, connections to working filmmakers.
  • Last but not least, (and my favorite) the 360 page guide to filmmaking.

If I never discovered Film School Secrets, I would still be in Windows Movie Maker, trying to edit and put together random footage, and still trying to call it a music video. That was the problem. I was limiting myself and my potential. I always knew I had it in me. I just had no idea where to start and didn’t have the money to pay for film school. Film School Secrets changed my life. Period.

Proof that it works.

I thought it might be cool to show you exactly how well I progressed after learning from Film School Secrets. I made this video below to show you Film School Secrets is legit. The beginning of the video is the music video that I made when I had no idea what I was doing. (Please dont judge too hard) However, the second video is the
video that I shot, directed, and edited AFTER going though the Film School Secrets program.

You should really give Film School Secrets a chance. Afterall, it is only $67 compared to the $30,000 that film school would cost. And most importantly, it worked for me.
